Family Movers

Family-Run and Hands-On Family Movers and Storage for Denver That Name on the Truck? It’s Joe’s, and He’s on the Job

Before the first box ever leaves the house, you have the number in writing — and the Denver crew that earns it is the one Joe brought on and trained, the same hands at both ends. Runners go down, every piece gets blanketed, and if your closing dates drift apart we’ll hold everything in a climate-controlled vault until they line back up.

  • Whoever wraps your couch in Denver is whoever sets it down at the new place — same faces, both ends. They’re Joe’s W-2 movers on Joe’s trucks, each one background-checked and brought up through our own training, so your move never gets farmed out to a temp or a stranger’s crew
  • We agree on one written number up front and sign off on it — that’s the deal. No clock running in the background, and once Joe’s truck rolls off your curb, nobody circles back with a line item you didn’t see coming
  • When your Denver closing and your move-in just won’t line up, we’ve got a climate-controlled vault to park your things in until the dates finally cooperate

One Straight Denver Figure, Written Down for You

A single, plain figure — no add-ons hidden in the fine print, no clock creeping up while the crew eases a sectional down the narrow back stairs of a Capitol Hill bungalow or threads a tight stairwell in a Highlands Victorian. Your Denver quote already covers the whole kit — the blankets, the dollies, the shrink-wrap, the floor and door guards, and Joe’s own trained movers doing the carrying.

From Your First Message to the Last Box Down

Booking with us comes down to four things, start to finish — that first note to Karen, and then the crew carrying the final box into your new place somewhere around the Denver metro.

1

Tell us what’s moving and when

A couple of ZIP codes, the date you’re shooting for, and a rough list of the big stuff — that’s plenty for Karen to put together a flat written quote and email it back before the day’s out.

2

Put a deposit on your spot

Your date is held with a $125 deposit, and that money rides straight onto your final total — it’s not an extra. Before we hang up we’ve already sorted the crew size, your arrival window, any certificate a RiNo or LoDo condo board asks for, and exactly where the truck sits when the block has an alley or no driveway at all.

3

We show up and load

On move day the uniformed Family Movers crew arrives in the window we promised, pads and shrink-wraps each piece, and loads it onto Joe’s own truck. There’s no stranger on your steps and no second company taking over the job.

4

We unload and put the place back together

The same crew drives every mile, then does the hauling — up the steep front steps, down into a Wash Park basement, whatever the new place throws at them. They rebuild the beds and tables and drop each box in the room you point to. When it’s all in, you pay the number on the sheet and nothing on top of it.

We Train Every Hand and Own Every Truck We Send Into Denver — One Honest Flat Price,
the Same Careful Crew on the Job from the First Box Through the Last

A 1900s bungalow in Capitol Hill with a flight of front steps. A loft over in RiNo. A Highlands Victorian, or a newer two-story out past Aurora. Every one of those moves went out the door in one piece.

Full-time the Denver metro movers who blanket and wrap every piece the way Joe taught them to handle their own grandma’s china — for one flat written price that doesn’t budge on move day. Whether it’s a sofa coming out of the Highlands, easing a sectional up a tight bungalow staircase, sorting out an alley and nowhere to park, or moving a family out to Englewood, the figure we wrote down is the figure you settle up — no meter ticking and nothing added on once the job’s done.

Why People Choose Family Movers

  • A flat figure settled before the truck rolls — not a running tab that climbs while you stand there counting minutes
  • Every mover is full-time, trained in-house, and personally vetted by Joe before they ever set foot on a job — we don’t pull bodies off a day-labor app and we don’t farm your move out to anybody else
  • We pad it, shrink-wrap it, carry it down the stairs, drive it across Denver and rebuild it on the other end — the same crew, one written bill, no hand-offs
  • US DOT/MC authority and a Colorado PUC household-goods mover permit on file, fully insured
  • We know how Denver actually moves — the older bungalows and Victorians around Capitol Hill, Washington Park and the Highlands with alley access or no driveway at all and stairwells you can barely turn a dresser in, the RiNo and LoDo condos, and the snowy winters and thin mile-high air we keep working straight through

Joe Marek, owner of Family Movers
Meet the owner

Joe Marek — Owner of Family Movers

Joe grew up around Berkeley and the Highlands, and before his name was ever on a truck he logged years working other Denver outfits’ crews. That’s the background he brought to Family Movers, which he started back in 2011 on one truck and one simple rule: the price goes down in writing and stays flat, the crew arrives when it said it would, and a customer’s belongings get handled the way he’d want his own treated. None of that has been handed off since — Joe is still the one running the shop, hiring each mover, and training them face to face, so the people on your porch are always our own and never a temp or a job passed to someone else.

What Denver Customers Usually Ask First

The things people most want cleared up before they book — answered plainly, no runaround.

Do you do the move yourselves, or hand it off?
Yes — Family Movers is a licensed, fully insured local moving company that calls Denver, CO. We load, drive and unload every job with our own trucks and our own uniformed crews, under US DOT/MC authority and our Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) household-goods mover permit. Not a chance — we are the movers, never a middleman who hands you off. Every mover is on our own payroll and every truck wears our name.
How do you price a Denver move?
Each move gets a single written price set by your home size, the access at both ends, and your inventory — never a meter ticking by the hour. Whatever number lands on paper is what you pay at the end, with nothing tacked on once the truck is loaded. Prefer the meter instead of a flat figure? A truck with a 2-mover crew is $145 an hour.
Does getting the written quote cost anything?
It costs nothing. Give us both ZIP codes, the date you’re aiming for, and a quick list of what’s coming with you — Joe puts together a flat written price at no charge and has it to you that same day, no strings attached.
Do I have to put money down to hold a date?
Holding the date takes a $125 deposit, and that amount is credited against your total rather than added to it. The balance is due on move day, after the truck’s unloaded and you’re in.
Are you fully licensed and covered in Colorado?
Yes — Family Movers carries US DOT/MC authority and a Colorado PUC household-goods mover permit, and we’re bonded and insured. Every shipment carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage, and $0.60-per-pound released value comes standard with full-value protection available on request.
Which moves can your crew take on?
Pretty much the lot: apartment and condo jobs, whole-house local moves all over the Denver metro, full-service packing, short-term storage, and long hauls that start in Denver, CO and end anywhere in the country. Every one of them rolls on a truck that’s ours alone.
