These terms walk through what working with Family Movers looks like, in the order a move actually happens — getting a price, holding the date, the day itself, how your goods are covered, and the law behind it. Booking a move with us means you’re on board with what’s below.
From estimate to a number you can hold to
For a local move, the figure we give is a good-faith read on the job from the details you share; hourly local work bills at our posted rates for the actual crew and time used. For a long-distance move, we issue a binding written quote — sign it and that’s the price, as long as the inventory and conditions hold to what you described. If move day turns up something well outside that — a lot more to carry, an added stop, or access nobody mentioned — the price can change, but never quietly: we talk it through with you first.
Holding your date, and changing it
A $125 deposit reserves your spot on the calendar and comes off your final total — it isn’t an extra charge. Need to cancel or push the date? Tell us as early as you reasonably can and we’ll work with you; deposits are refundable up to a few business days out. A same-day cancellation or a locked-out, no-access situation at the scheduled time may cost the deposit, since a crew and truck were held just for you.
Your part on move day
To keep things smooth, please have items ready and walkways clear, arrange parking and building access at both ends, and set aside hazardous materials, perishables, and irreplaceable papers to carry yourself. We can’t be on the hook for delays driven by things outside our hands — a blizzard, a building lockout, or information that wasn’t accurate at booking — or for the contents of cartons someone else packed.
How your belongings are covered
Released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per article comes included at no charge and is the default liability level under federal and Colorado rules. If you’d rather have repair-or-replacement coverage, full-value protection is available for an added cost arranged before your move. Every shipment also carries up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage. Report any claim to us promptly and in writing so we can look at it and make it right.
The law that governs this
These terms run under the laws of the State of Colorado, and any dispute is handled accordingly. We operate under our US DOT and MC authority for interstate work and our Colorado Public Utilities Commission household-goods permit within the state. Questions about any of it?
